IMAP setup on exchange server

Can someone point me in the right direction?  I have exchange 2000 and I have a bunch of POP3 accounts setup, but I am interested in learing how to do IMAP, but I can't find good documentation, like a step by step guide.   This can't be hard to do i just dont know where to look in all the settings.

I guess you are planning to setup IMAP account on your outlook , Right ?

What version of Outlook you have ?

I guess outlook 2000 's Internet mail only mode only supports IMAP..

no i am really wondering how to setup IMAP on my exchange server so i can use outlooks imap settings...
I am new to IMAP...

Where have you setup IMAP .. in Outlook .. I guess using IMAP you get only messages

i setup imap in outlook....is there a way to put contacts, tasks and notes or is that something different?

My understanding is calendar, contact, task and notes should be stored locally in the machine in a PST file. you can create  a pst file and import those if you already have them

so there is no way that outlook will sync the contacts etc.
