Replacing motherboard in a Fujitsu Siemens C series notebook

I have Fujitsu Siemens C4345 notebook, with P2 600Mhz processor which I bought secondhandhand (in Portugal where I'm living, so it has a Portuguese layout keyboard), but it died on me suddenly and inexplicably and now fails to boot up. I've taken it to two repair shops who have told me it needs a new motherboard, but the cost is apparently 750 euros just for the parts. I've found someone on ebay UK who is selling a C4135 motherboard with P2 400 mhz processor in its case, but they were unsure whether the M/B could be compatible with the rest of my notebook, or alternatively whether I could fit the screen and peripherals from my unit into their M/B, in its own case.

So, can anyone tell me: 1. Are the parts are compatible?  2. Is this a repair I could do without specialist knowledge or tools (I can assemble a desktop but have never tried with a laptop!)?

Thanks
Leon

1. it is not worth it to spend 750 euro on PII machine
2  motherboards you mentioned have different layouts
3. I do not recommend to learn how to take it apart if you never done it before.
4 if you have access to Ebay do search for Fujitsu C7651 it should be in your price range
