How to configure dns on win 2000 pro or switch to win 2000 server

Hope you can help.  I need to make a win 2000 pro computer with the main medical software accessable to two different offices on cable connections.  I tried to upgrade to win 2k server but unable to do so.  I would like to keep present system files intact because of the quriky medical software, but I have tried everything to change to domain server with no luck.  Do you have any suggesstions?  I would really appericate the help.

Thanks in Advance

I believe that your best best are as follows:

1. Sharing files only (not applications).  You can configure a static vpn connection between the two offices and the file system can be seen at both locations.

2. Sharing applications, single user at a time.  Install pcAnywhere on the target computer for remote access from office in which the computer is not located.

3. Sharing applications, multiple users at a time.  Create a win 2K server installation (cannot upgrade from Pro).  Enable Terminal Services.  Install applications on the server.

If you would like further info on a given option, just ask.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I was sure that was the only way to go but wanted to get confirmation from another source other than myself.
