Removing Write Protection

How can I remove the write protection on a file that I cannot deleted in any way.  Part of it is write protected.  It to finish removing McAfee Internet Security and until I get these file deleted I am without antivirus and firewall protection.

Try in normal mode and if it doesnot help try logging in safe mode and then try deleting the file

I am going to try safe mode because it has worked before and I should have thought of it myself.  It is a bit easier.  I am also going to to keep the geek and deleting unremovable files in reserve.  I did not want to go the long way around with Microsoft.  

That was very fast and I commend both of you.
