Booting from cd with g4 powerbook

i have recently acquired a g4 powerbook, as i am new to macs, i am unsure how to boot from cd. Is there something equivalent of a boot menu on pc's, Im really stumped as I have tried pressing most buttons while booting up.

Power up the Mac, immediately upon hearing the audible chord:

Hold down the 'c' key during the boot process to boot off a CD.
or
Hold down the Option key during the boot process to present a list of all bootable volumes.

If you can't see your CD after you have booted up with the 'option' key held down then it is the wrong CD for that model machine, it's too old or from a different Mac.
OR you have a faulty CD drive! We are assuming that the drive works OK when you boot from the hard drive.
