The flip-screen monitor freely moves on the hinges.  The monitor works perfectly fine, however.
How do I tighten the screws to stop the monitor from freely swinging on the hinges?

Thanks for your help.

This is a common problem with the display. There are a couple of things that you can
1. Call your local HP office and see if they have any old 1800 models and get the hinges from them.

2. if you have no luck there you can remove the two cover's over the hinges and you will see a pin that sticking out, you will need to manover the pin back in towards the middle of the screen. Some force might be required. Also take not of the condition of the thread on the pin if it is really bad you might be fighting a loosing battle.

Be aware of the the screen cable as a lot of movement has been known to cause the the cable to tare and then the only fix is replace the display. you might also want to search this site and see people complaining of display issues as the only fix for that is a new system board and that is very expensive and in most cases worth buy a new machine and you might be able to get the hinges from that guy.

Hope this helps
