How to number records from 1 to x

I have about 1000 records in a database and I would like to put a serial number( from 1 to 1000 ) on  each record.
Which script have I to write to do that easily ?

no script, just a replace with serial number.
find all
sort according to what you need.
The function is not translated in FM6 (replace contents!) (shortcut is Ctrl =) in "Fiches" menu
