This Happen To Anyone On MSN Before?
I use MSN every so often and not many people add me to thier contact list. I dont get many notifications from people asking to add me to thier list, most is like 1-2 per month. So was caught by suprise when I signed on today and got 3 notifications. Was about to accept when I noticed one of the email addys was...

Why would MS be adding me to thier list? I asked myself, so checked out the other addys both of them looked legitimate enough, but I have denied all of them. My questions is could this be a possible spammer trick checking to see if my hotmail account is active? I know how they check using links, web bugs, and images in emails, but most email clients disable those. Any input ont his matter would be helpful, I am not aware fo such a trick so want to be educated on the possible new methods they are using. Thanks for your time!

Nick

I dont know any MS employee at all. Only place I have it dispayed is on my journal which is private memebrs only, and done using a JavaScript link, also I know exatly who visits. 2nd place is on EE in my profile. I Googled my email addy and only EE came up as it, I dont use my MSN addy for any other purpose than for MSN Messenger.
What strikes me odd is the sudden 3 request from strangers in one day. I usually get 1-2 per month, and thats what I call a busy month. Most of the time will go months without anyone adding me.
Reason I am asking if its a spammer, is jsut this week some idiot of a friend bulk mailed his whole contact list including me. So about 100 people got my MSN addy, it was a forward so dont know how many times it was forwarded. I have blocked his email and cussed him out for his stupididty but, looks like to me a spammer got the forward or users who see my addy out of the 100+ addys are finding it so amazing they need to add me to thier list. As to which I dont know...=o\

It may be very hard to tell if this is infact a legitimate email address. This could be some employer of Microsoft who might be your friend and who might be willing to add to his/her list.
in my 5 yrs of using msn messenger, never had this issue before .
Do you publicize your hotmail ID on the web apart from using the email ?
