### Closing the old questions in Win2000###

Hello experts,

As you had probably noticed, there is an organized effort to get all the abandoned questions closed (abandoned question is a question that has not comments for 22 or more days). This way we move the really answered questions in the PAQs and delete the nonanswered ones. And of course all the experts that had answered questions get their points - although it is not the Primary function of the cleanup, it is something that is also a plus:).

If you are interested in helping, please read this:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs7

If you are still interested, please post here with whatever questions you may have for the process. In case you decode it is not for you - please if you see such recommendation in a question that you had participated in, take your time to object if needed or to post your opinion if you are asked for it.

Thanks in advance to anyone that will decide to help.

If you want to help in another area, check the area for such question, post here specifying the area or send me a mail.

Hi AnnieMod,

I would be glad to help, but I have only been answering questions for about a month now. Take a look at my profile, and if you would like my assistance, let me know.

Cheers!

JDeClue

P.S. Thanks for the post, I found Amebas quickpost, and this is slick.
I have read the page, no questions... seems pretty self explanatory. ;)

J
I have posted the April 1 (due Sept 5) questions to the CleanUp channel. Would you mind reviewing, if you get a chance...
https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21115162/Windows-2000-Cleanup-due-5-Sep-04.html

J
Oh... I am currently using the QuickPost by Ameba. I will remove the line, next time.

J
One question, I am a bit confused on point splitting, and the statements regarding "Points For expertname". When I split a question, do I have to post a Points for?

J
Ok... I only posted recommendations, I did not post any questions. I am pretty sure I am doing exactly what I am suppose to, I just wanted to make sure ;)

J
I have it printed out and in front of me. I wasn't quite sure what to make of this section , https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hi91 , it is after posting the cleanup question. I will just disregard it, I am pretty sure you answered my question.

J
Ok I am done, I posted 3 messages in the Cleanup section. Next I will try not to break them up into so many messages. ;)

J
You can give me a new range, but you might want to make sure those were done right ;) I am a newbie!

I guess I probably shouldn't have responded at all. When you get a chance, would you please review this question (from my list to clean), and give me a clue on how to deal with questions... Do I do anything? Post a message for a moderator? etc.

Thank you in advance

J
Okay... this is tough, I think he got bad answers that were really off-track.... and he actually replied back, asking for an answer... it is a simple one, I want to answer him... but that seems weird to answer the question now... maybe this isn't a good job for me! ;)

J
ok, thanks... I worry a bit about the etiquette on the site, and as I have only used it for the last month, I have already felt the wrath of the old-timers! ;)

J
Okie Dokie... Annie ;)

As per my e-mail to you, I am interested in assisting.  My strengths are in Windows in General and NT and 2000 in particular.  I also have been going a bit nuts lately in the XP, Storage, and MS-DOS Areas.

To ensure I don't get overwhelmed, and actually have time to do this, can I have a relatively small block to start with.  I'll probably be able to handle much more, but to start with...

Thanks,
Lee
No, I don't think so.
Although...

When I've seen people leaving those messages, they are usually noted as "Administrative Comment" - will I be leaving these?  If so, will ALL my comments in any area be considered "administrative comments" or just the ones for an assigned range?  Or will I login differently?
Nope, sounds good to me.
Annie,

Given my knowledge and personal opinions of how things should be done, do I have the latitude to recommend uneven point splits?  If so, should I justify my recommendation in the question itself or in the Cleanup Topic?

For example:  http:Q_20956409.html - I believe a solution that uses built in Windows commands is better.  HOWEVER, I would also like to give credit to the other person who suggested free software as a work-around.  I would recommend a 60/40 split.
I would love to help out :) Just let me know where and when to start :D lol
Would you like some help here, too :)

Bob
Taking June and July 2004 :)

Done with the 40 questions for June-July 2004 :)

Taking 2004 in my sights :)

Yes I am still interested, just been sorting out my connectivity problems myself so havent been online for a while :) Just as a thought, it might be an idea to wait a few months before I take it on so that it gives me some time to get my own internet connection so I am not relying on this wireless network connection ( which btw isn't that good because I get a very weak signal so have a hard time )

I am using win 2k pro now so that will help considerably :)

Looking forward to helping the win 2k area cleanup in the near future and I will give it my best shot !

Kind regards

Gecko
I would like a small range just to get started and also to give myself a taste so to speak of what it's like :) Thanks :)
Done with 2004 :)

Bob
Taking Feb-Mar 2005 :)
