the file is only 52k so it is not a size issue. is there some kind of rule for attachments or external address. Hope someone can help

I have sent large attachments(still under the max set for our server) to other external e-mail addresses with no problem.

The remote site is blocking the attachment for some reason. Their software is sophisticated enough to block it at the SMTP level forcing your server to generate the NDR.

That is exactly what I thought it was. I just wanted to hear it from some one else so that I could be confident that it wasn't something on my end when i explain it to my clients.
