PIX client VPN setup

Hi ,
i am looking to connect a VPN client through my new PIX 501 and its been a while since i did this thing but here is the config
i'm using client 4.03 which seems fine
currently i can connect to the address pool absolutely fine

ony problem is i cannot access anything on the network

cant see whats wrong but guess its an access-lsit thing or something

any help is appreciated

also just to add a bit more info.

when i am connect i get an ip address but no default gateway on the virtual IP address and also when i do an ARP look-up i can see the 192.168.72.x network .... not sure that helps but to me looks like a routing issue

Your configuraiton seems correct. Did you try pinging a live host on the x.x.72.0 network?

yes i did i can't get anything
not sure whats up there as i thought it was right too

like i said when i try to ping from an external source (which is admittedly behind a firewall) there is no response and i can't get any other services such as DNS etc from it so i;m not sure whats blocking it.  I thought this would have worked.

should i be able to ping the IP address handed out by the Firewall on the client?
i can't even do that!

Hi redmayne,
Yes you should be able to ping the IP address assigned to you (I can).

Have you tried reinstalling the client and making sure you don't have any personal firewall installed?
Sometimes deinstalling, rebooting, reinstalling current service pack, rebooting, reinstalling client fixes problems like this.

Is it the 4.0.3(F) client that you have?

yes that is the client
i think i will try that a bit later on at home as was using another ofice's machine where i don't want to mess too much

nope still didn't work - can't see it being a client fault now
had the same problem but no personal firewall or other VPN client software in the way

here are some other thigns such as sh ver etc in case that helps but all looks good to me

isakmp nat-traversal

hello sorry for the delay
i managed to fix it by usin g a portion o9f the same subnet the PC's are connected to
its obviously some routing issue but i reckon as i have found in the past it will be more to do with tnhe box itself than the config
