Does the latest McAfee Antivirus require any sort of activation???
The Activation scheme Norton uses gets fouled up sometimes.
There are other things I also dislike about Norton - I've seen an increasing
number of Trojans punch through it, and other viruses and spyware
that deactivate it.

Hi lowplainsdrifter,

What you tell about norton is absolutely true. personally I have seen many issues with norton not able to catch virus etc ..

Now coming to Mcafee , the activation depends on how you get the product

a) I get my antivirus from my school server and it is free.. No activation required. I can install it , do update on virus definitions and it works fine

b) I have seen new computers that you get from stores come with mcafee which would be available free for around 30 days or something like that and then you have to get professional version or pay money to activate it .. Maybe you are looking for something like that

This page should tell you about the different products and what you would have to do
