Why do XP Themes slow down Canvas.LineTo-type operations in Delphi 7?

When we use the code below, our application that does Canvas.LineTo-type of calls gets *very* slow refreshing the screen.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to speed it up?

In the main form's interface uses clause added :
   Uses XPMan;

In the main form class private section added:
    XPManifest : TXPManifest;

In the main form FormCreate method added:
   XPManifest := TXPManifest.Create(Self);

I don't know about the slowness caused by the XP Themes... but you don't need to create the XPManifest component dinamically... all you need to do is have the XPMan in your uses clause, that's all the XPManifest component does, if you look at the code... there's pretty much no code, just an include file, which is the actual manifest
