izpack for installer

i am very new to java. The first task that has been assigned to me is to create a installer. I have been to told to use izpack as it is free. I am finding it a bit hard to use.
I have managed to get few things working. problems i am facing are
1. the shortcut display icon on my machine does not display any icon on other machines.
2.the shortcut doesn't work. i click on it and nothing happens.

plz suggest

you may be specifying a absolute path for ur image file.
Try specfying a relative path

if u r doing somehting like
iconFile="C:/myproj/src/mi_small.gif"

change it to
iconFile="$INSTALL_PATH/src/mi_small.gif"

Do go through the izpack documentation.
it'll be in doc folder in the folder in which u installed izpack

there must be some problem in the shortcut target.
Copy the shortcut target and try running ur application from the prompt . There u'll be able to see error messages.
