Lost ability to launch attachments within Notes

Hi Experts,

I have just upgraded my ME laptop to XP Pro. When opening attachments within email using Lotus Notes, I get a dialog which states 'An application to open this attachment was not found'.

I have checked file associations in XP and all seems fine.

Do I need to remove/reinstall notes?

Cheers
Andy_bjts.

Maybe this one will help:
    http:Q_11016141.html "Launching Attatchment from Notes"
Or (less likely):
http:Q_20252840.html "Launching an attachment (not working)"
http:Q_20091560.html ""Unable to locate program" when launching excel attachments"

Easiest might still be to reinstall Notes, it won't do any harm.

First try to reinstall Notes, removing should not be necessary.

Won't re-intallation overwrite my contacts & network setup in Notes?
Also I have several large (>50Mb) databases replicated locally ... will have to re-replicate?

Tks so far...

Replicating is always good, but reinstalling Notes from the CD won't change any installed data file, not even the notes.ini. If you want to be sure that nothing is touched and you don't believe me (which is always a goog thought!), then rename the notes data directory to something else, reinstall Notes from the CD (just the software installation, DON'T start the installation process on your system!), remove the newly created data directory and move the old one back.

Did as you say, didn't believe you, worked perfectly.

Thanks very much.
