Hi

I have an existing word document that has a table already in it. I can open the word document within vb but don't know how to reference that particular table inside the document as I need to edit it, by putting some values in it.

Thanks
Adam

sorry, i have a habit of solving questions soon after i have asked them, its always the way but i have another query

can you name tables inside word

so instead of referencing tables like this objword.tables.item(2). whatever can you reference them like objword.tables.item("Table1"). whatever

If not how can you keep track of tables if you add another table to the word document

Hi adam,

If u see the definition of objword.tables.item it is of type int. So u won't be able to refer the table by a name.

It looks like u have to refer the table using numbers only
