Free Partition Manager

Well, I need a partition Manager to edit my hard drives, and I don't want to spend any money. Does anyone know of any FREE partition manager out there?

I have tried Google searches, and P2P, but nothing...

QTParted is a good utility.  You can always download a bootable Linux distro that has this program. ie. Knoppix.

BootIT Next Generation was listed under "not free"
however it is shareware and the shareware version can be installed and run from a floppy disk.

ALL the features for imaging and partition management WORK from this boot floppy EVEN in shareware mode ...

such as copying and moving of partitions/volumes
non-destructive resizing and conversion for FAT/FAT32/NTFS
and undelete of partitions/volumes - even MBR repair

Try spfdisk. It doubles up as partition manager and dual boot manager.  It can partition the drive live (with data), but better make sure you have a backup, as always when partitioning.


It was made by a Taiwanese and is widely used in the Chinese speaking world, but is little known otherwise.  The site is in Chinese. Just click on the English text ...

Try download a boot disk from http://www.bootdisk.com free, make use of the fdisk and other utilities.

BootIT Next Generation can now be installed and run from a CDROM disc.

All the features such as copying and moving of partitions/volumes
non-destructive resizing and conversion for FAT/FAT32/NTFS

work in the shareware mode.

You can even use it to edit the boot.ini file on a NTFS boot volume.

Please support the -still- active shareware community.
I have been using and love G-Parted. Its a linux based and free partition manager, but it easily manages FAT32 and NTFS partitions.
