Can anyone help me recover lost .pst files that were deleted when the user was deleted?

I have read through all the other related discussions, and I can't find an answer specific enough for my particular situtation. My profile somehow had become corrupt, so a "wonderful" MS support guy had me copy and paste all of my current user info (documents, favorites, application data, etc.) to a new profile I created, and then I deleted the old profile. I even chose the option that deleted the profile, yet kept the files. However, when I opened Outlook, I had nothing. I've done countless searches, and only find two new 48 kb pst files, obviously not my old huge Outlook data. I have performed searches showing all files, including hidden and system, no luck. When I called MS support back, trying to have them fix the mistake they earlier walked me through, they had no suggestions for me. I've run several of Ontrack's utilities - no luck. Anyone have any ideas??? (and of course, I hadn't backed up recently) Thanks so much in advance!

Unfortunately, I performed your suggestions immediately upon discovering the problem, no pst files. From what I understand, most recovery programs even have a hard time finding lost pst files. Anyone know of software that definitely recovers pst's? Thanks.
