IMAP appears to hang Domino 5.0.13

Hi,

We run Domino and have to support some remote users who do not have the Notes client.
I have been using POP3 but more recently IMAP as it appears to work better.
Recently however the server has been very unstable with 4 hangs occuring yesterday. When it hangs there are no error messagaes on the Domino screen or in the event log (W2K Server SP4). This morning I was able to run the Task Manager and see that nimap was consuming 99% of processor time.
I have disabled both IMAP and POP3 services but would like to know if there are any fixes / tweaks that I can make to IMAP to prevent this happening.

With Thanks,

Andy

Check the log.nsf for any reported errors. It gives better picture than windows log

I did check the log. There are no errors reported. It's just that the IMAP server is the only process making entries in the log. All of the other tasks appear to stop or only appear very infrequently in the log and at that point the Notes server is not responding via the network. It may be responding to IMAP, I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for the response though.

Thanks for the answer. I will try this over the next 24 hours and see if it makes a difference.
There is only a small number of users, maybe 5 or so, active at about 3am rising to about 20 or so during the normal working day.
Mail file preference for these users was set to None and I have now changed it to Prefers MIME

Do you know if it is possible to convert the contents of an existing mail file to MIME format

Regards,

Andy
No, the content conversion is done by router
Thanks HemanthaKumar, it's survived for almost 24 housr now so I'm assuming that this has done the trick. Your help is much appreciated
