am running os win2000 and have two virus's I can not get rid of and I have spent the last 4 hours trying...

w32.spybot.worm   and backdoor.ranky

can anyone help..

First and foremost run windows update to ensure your system has all the patches and updates . then

I would look at the solution posted in http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/Viruses/Q_20777095.html
After you removed the process and the file, I would try to restore the file by using the repair function on the W2K system disk
