Ghosting problem

When we ghost across the network here at work (using symantec's ghost 7.0 i think), it bogs down the entire network.

What option should I be choosing when I ghost? Directed broadcast? unicast or multicast?
Thanks

You should be using multicast, there is also an option within ghost where you can limit the bandwidth used for pushing your images. hope this helps.

Here you go!

• Multicast deployment of a single image to many computers simultaneously
• Unicast deployment of a single image to a single client
• Selective targeted broadcast deployments based on the subnet groupings of clients

Basically if you use multicast then its will broadcast the data all accross the network to every machine which is usefull for ghosting to many machines, as it only requires 1 set of data to be sent for loads of clients but if your only doing one machine then it will kill the network!

Yes you can also set the bandwidth required!

Use unicast for a single machine!!
