Hi,

I have two machines running W2k SP4(all patches up-to-date) with IE6 sp1. Everytime the user tries to goto www.google.com or www.google.com.au the IE window freezes. They have end task IE and start again. I've checked the machine for spyware using ad-aware and cleared up all temporary files/cookies etc. But it still keeps crashing.

Ive also checked the HOSTS file to see if there is an attempt to hijack google.com to another IP but that clear as well.

Has anybody come across this problem?? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Harmeet

Hello harmeetgabha =)

try running this tool first:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFIX.htm

then if still no luck, then u can Download HijackThis v1.98.2 from here, run it and Save the LOG file:
http://tools.radiosplace.com/HijackThis.exe

Then u will have two options.....

1. Post here that LOG file, and I will tell u that what is BAD in it and how to remove them :)

2. Post it at this site >> http://www.hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english
and it will automatically analyse it for u,,, if u can trust it, go on and delete everything which it asks u to delete :)

!! GOOD LUCK !!
