PowerQuest V2i Protector + Images

Using v2i version 2.0 desktop edition on win xp sp1.

Is there a method of deleteing the old image files, or just having v2i automatically ovewrite the old file?

I have the backup running on schedule everyday, and after a few days if i dont delete the images i run out of hd space.

Any solutions??

Hi!
We use the Management Console for v2i Protector. There you can configure how many backups v2i should keep. If you don't have the Management Console I would suggest to use the Windows Scheduler to delete old images.

Hi LC7Web,

I am also using V2i Desktop version 2 currently. V2i is capable of limiting the number of retained backups for you. Try this;

Go Start>Programs>PowerQuest V2i Protector>V2i Desktop Edition

Once the program opens, switch to "Advanced View" (left hand pane, first selection). Next, click the"Backup Jobs" tab in the right pane. Right click your backup job and select "Edit Job". Click "Next" once, this should put you in the "Options" window.

There you can select the "Limit the number of backups saved for each drive" check box and select the maximum number of saved backups you desire. Save the job and thats it. From there V2i will manage overwriting/deleting old backups.

I hope this helps.
