* Default Substitution Web Component Values
These default values are captured from the properties of a page. To view these values, follow these steps:
Open a web in FrontPage.
On the View menu, click Folders.
Right-click a file and then click Properties.
Click the General tab. Location represents the Page URL.
Click the Summary tab. Created By, Modified By, and Comments correspond to the Author, Modified By, and Description substitution values.

* Inserting a Substitution Web Component
To insert a Substitution Web Component on a page, follow these steps:
Open a web in FrontPage.
Open or create a new page. Click where you want to insert a Substitution Web Component.
On the Insert menu, click Web Component.
In the Component Type list, click Included Content. In the Choose a type of Content list, click Substitution. Click Finish.
In the Substitution Properties dialog box, in the Substitute with list, select the substitution value you want to use, and then click OK.

* Adding a Substitution Web Component Value
When you add your own substitution values, they will appear in the Substitution Properties dialog box. To add your own substitution values, follow these steps:
Open a Web in FrontPage.
On the Tools menu, click Web Settings.
Click the Parameters tab.
Click Add.
In the Name box, type a descriptive name for the value. For example, type Company E-mail.
In the Value box, type the value that you want to appear on your page. For example, type example@microsoft.com.
Click OK two times.
