Problems installing SunOne WebServer 6.1 SP2

I get the following error when attempting to install SunOne 6.1 SP2:

****************************************
ERROR: The directory /drivelocation/SunWebSrv already exists and might contain pre-4.0 Sun ONE servers. Installing into an existing pre-4.0 server root is not supported. Choose another server root.
****************************************

The server is a new server without any existing versions of iPlanet or SunOne installed on the server. The location we are attempting to install to is its own drive mount on the Solaris system with only the directory "lost+found" located in the folder. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening or know of a possible workaround for this?

Thanks!

Hi,

I think you are trying to install into non-empty directory. Sun Web Server requires its own directory to install itself. Either remove the lost+found directory before starting the installer or tell the installer to install to a subdirectory. you can choose this option to install the new server...

i hope it may help you..

I have actually found a work around for this issue. From the looks of it, the setup looks for the existance of a specific file when attempting to install and was causing the issue.

See http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-65086-1&searchclause=%22ERROR:%20The%20directory%22

I did a "touch .suitespot" and then ran the install again and it worked just fine. I had already tried the above step that you had mentioned and it still would not install even without the lost+found directory.
