i need my java program, while running in the background of windows, to show a system tray icon. How can this be done?

You can try and use the java system tray...

Its using a dll to put the application in the system tray and JNI to call the dll.

I downloaded the systray1.01.zip file compiled the source test example and ran it. it worked perfectly. just what i need
