Shdocvw.dll error closing ie6 on XP machine
I have a brand new WinXP machine. I have not installed anything on it, besides pop-up stopper, AdAware and Spybot S&D, and all the IM's. I uninstalled Windows Messenger, and stopped all the "phone home" options. I use this computer primarily to surf the internet, and read web-based email (I do not use Outlook). For the past week, every time I close the first ie page I opened in the session, (even if I leave others open), an error occurs which points to the shdocvw.dll. I would have copied the error, but it will not allow me to copy and paste it, and it is far too long to try and type out. It does say that the error is in a file which starts with C:docume~\Lori\LOCALS~1\Te mp\WER...
I have searched my computer for that file, and not been able to find it. I see a lot of people who have problems with this .dll, but they all seem to be backward to my problem. Can someone tell me what is causing it and how to fix it? It is merely an annoyance, but I learned long ago that on a computer, if something starts out as merely an annoyance, eventually it will be a big bad ugly thing, almost impossible to get rid of.
