number sequence in Crystal Report 8.

i'm creating a report that show list of employee. i want to put a numbering sequence in front of each list, like :

1. Mike Lee
2. Steve
3. James

the employee name is from the database. is there any way to create the auto number sequence in Crystal report ?

Add the special field 'Record Number' to your report.

Record Number will continuosly displaying the number..but i want the number to be displayed like this :

IT Department
      1. Mike Lee
      2. James

Account Department
      1. Hafida
      2. Gaban Zek

Right-click on the name field and Insert >RunningTotal
Set the Summary to Count.
Evaluate for each record.
Reset on Change of Group.
