Hi friends,

As IIS 5 on Windows XP will not support multiple websites and host headers, I need to look at another web server. What free webservers are there out there that I an host several websites and domains on?

Apache is free and will run on Windows.  You can't do much better than that.

I've configured apache 1.3.9 on linux several times. Is it just as simple on Windows XP?

Absolutely.  If you've used Apache before, it should be pretty straightforward.  You'll need Windows XP SP1, though.  You can see more notes about installing on Windows XP here: http://apache.mirror.cygnal.ca/httpd/binaries/win32/README.html.
