Rounding in excel

I have a number like $3.894 and need it rounded down to $3.88
Does anyone know the formula to use?

yes here it is:

3.894 can be rounded up to 3.89 only .

but if you want it to be rounded to 3.88 you have to substract the rounded value 3.89 by 0.01 .

I will show both preocedures:

if your value i.e. 3.894 is in cell B3 and you want your answer in cell b4 type this cell b4:

=ROUND(B3,2) and press enter the value 3.89 will be entered to the cell b4.

if you want the value 3.88;

type   =ROUND(B3,2)-0.01  in cell b4 and press enter. you will get 3.88 but this is not the correct rounded answer as 3.89 is the correct answer
