Flash MX 2004 Preloader which Masks an image and shows percentage.
Hi Gurus!
I'm looking for a preloader which actually uses the expanding progress bar component as a mask to gradually expand upwards, changing one image into another as the movie loads, I'd also like this preloader to feature the percentage number.
Can anyone guide me to a tutorial for such a preloader, or advise me how I might go about making one?
Cheers,
Luke

Cheers for the reply!
I'm using the percentage value to dynamically scale the preloader bar, but I want to use the bar as a transition mask layer that makes the forst layer transparent, and gradually peels away the first image to reveal the second.

Cheers for the tip Blue-genie!!!
I've not used the component in question, but i suspect it will be much easier to build your own preloader, simply put the usual loading bar into a mask layer.
the percentage feature is a little bit of simple maths.
if you're using getBytesTotal, and getBytesLoaded,
simply divide the loaded by the total, multiply by 100 and that will give you a percentage.
