I need to read them in VB

Whats the best VB control to store/process them

How to read them all at a time

I know about ADO

BUt I do not want to read it cell by cell


I want that the complete sheet is read at once into some structure [to reduce I/O cycles] and then process one cell at a time from that structurw

you convert the excel file into a database then the rest is easy

why don't you use the sample from sirbounty with ADO? you read it in a recordset in one go and work with the recordset throughout the code
