What is wmsdmoe.exe?

wmsdmoe.dll is a Windows Media Player component, but I ran a Google search for wmsdmoe.exe and got no results.

Does anyone know what this file is and what it does?

Yes I am sure.  It is currently running on a friend's system.  I'm guessing it's a virus or spyware, but would like to know what it is before trying to kill it.

hmmmmmmm wmsdmoe.dll is the original and valid file, which cannot run in background !!
and if its wmsdmoe.exe, then im agree with u that its junk stuff =\

If u want to know abt the Bad running and starting programs on ur system, u can Download HijackThis v1.98.2 from here, run it and Save the LOG file:
http://tools.radiosplace.com/HijackThis.exe

Then Post it at this site >> http://www.hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english
and it will automatically analyse it for u,,, Fix everything which it asks u to delete :)

and if still u cannot get it working, then Post here that LOG file, and we will tell u that what is BAD in it and how to remove them :)

My original post was based on his HijackThis logfile.

wmsdmoe.exe is currently setup to run on startup and is a current running process.

I would like to know if anyone else has ever seen it because I wasn't able to find any info on it.

hmmmmmmm Atleast i dont know abt it, listening abt it for the first time,,,, Yahoo and Google both have no hits on this process..... so totally unknown file =\

u can still find it on ur drive, right click it and check its properties, if its a valid file, it must show its company information,,,,, if u still want to confirm more... u can goto that Automatic Analyse site, and analyse ur log there,,,, check what information does it show abt this process, Nasty or Unknown ??

I ran it on the site and it shows as Unknown.

I will check the file properties when I have access to the system to see if it gives any information.

I went ahead and removed the process and it seemed to fix a problem that the particular system was having.  So I still don't know what it is, but doesn't seem like anything good.

I'll give you the points for trying at least.

Oh and most importantly, being honest and saying you didn't know when you didn't know.  I hate being guided around in circles from people who say they know, but don't really know.
