Without providing any details, it's very hard to know exactly what causes the problem. Most probably, it occurs because of uncaught exception in the code, which in turn causes terminate() to be called.

Additional info from MSDN:

The terminate function is used with C++ exception handling and is called in the following cases:
  1. A matching catch handler cannot be found for a thrown C++ exception.
  2. An exception is thrown by a destructor function during stack unwind.
  3. The stack is corrupted after throwing an exception.
