Hi,

I am new to syabase. I am using ASE 12.5 and Windows Xp. We have a Sybase server which is running in remote. Whenever we need data from datadase, we connect to the remote server and get the data. Due to network traffic and other performance issues, we decided to keep the database in our local server so that the clients can access with less issues.

Now how can i move database from remote server to local server? Is there any s/w or doccument for doing it?

Is it possible to run morethan one instance of a server in same machine?

Thanks.

Firstly:

yes , just add/build another server with a new port number

> Now how can i move database from remote server to local server? Is there any s/w or doccument for doing it?
are you talking about a 1 off move, or a continuous replication of data from the primary server to the local server ?

if one off, then what platform is the current server running on.

if continuous, then Sybase RepServer is a great product, but expensive
