how to make a static text control invisible at run time

Hi,

I have a static text IDC_STATIC1 whose member name is m_labeltext.

I want to make this invisible at run time.

how do i do that??

GetDlgItem(IDC_STATIC1)->ShowWindow(SW_HIDE);  //or SW_SHOW to show

Thanks a lot..it works ..

i am fairly new to VC++, but not new to programming....
why was it difficult for me to find this simple statement?? i searched online..could not find any example..

can  you point me to a nice place where i can start learning vc++ properly??

Have a look at the samples that comes with VC.  (They should be on your CD's, a default installation doesn't install them to your harddisk).

A good book is 'Programming Windows with MFC' by Jeff Prosise.  (It will be worth the investment)
