Page Separator Setup

I'm printing to a HP 4000 Lazerjet and am trying to manipulate the SYSPRINT.SEP file to print out (include) the number of pages being printed on the separator page. Does anyone have any idea in how to do so?   Thanks in advanced

I do not think there is any way to get the job's page count on the separator page. For one thing, without parsing the entire print file, only the printer can really know how many pages/copies were requested - and the separator page certainly cannot know that a print job was cancelled.

For info on separator pages see

The PC or server can request the total number of pages printed to date using PJL commands. You would need to use a VB (or unix) script to send the commands and read the result, and from that you can calculate the number of pages for each job. Not what you asked for, but maybe the only way to do it.
