We are using SharePoint Portal Server 2003 for our Intranet (announcments, news etc. ). After doing some windows updates suddenly we are getting following error message when ever we try to go to our Intranet Website of SPS 2003:
"500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR"

I tried
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;841216

But still the problem stays.

Following are the 4 updates after which SPS 2003 stopped working:

------------------------------
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2003

Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1, English (KB841876)

Security Update for Windows Server 2003 (KB833987)

 Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (KB873374)
 ------------------------------

Any suggetion/comments are welcomed

Have you tried running a repair from the SharePoint CD - this might work?

First,  go to IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and then uncheck  "show friendly http error messages"  this way you can see a better error message.  Then re-post that error

I have to re-install SPS & then restore the old site.

I loose some folders but got 90% site back.

& I'll have to delete this question.

Thanks for your help jullianH/my51chevy.
