Hp Business inkjet 2200 printer keeps saying some print cartridges/printheads missing

Hp Business inkjet 2200 printer keeps saying some print cartridges/printheads missing, i have tried everything taken the cartridges out and the print heads out and even replaced some of them i have cleaned all the containers and the copper strips to make sure that there was nothing interfering that way anything else i can try, i have tried all the cold restarts and everything like that. I have even left the power off all night to see if that would work, i have searched HP and cannot find anything on there, i could really do with some help on this one.

Hello again,

I may have found your answer.  Broken Bongo pads at the backs of the cartridges.  See the below link for a picture of the problem on a similar printer, the HP 2000C, which uses the same cartridges that yours does.  


That web site sells a kit that will fix a 2000C or a 2500C.  I don't know if one of the kits will work on a 2200.  The business owner is friendly, and you could ask him.

Have you tried unplugging the printer for 10 seconds, then plugging it back in?

I should further explain that I meant unplugging the power, not the communication cord.  Unplugging accomplishes a harder reset than simply powering down.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest that you probably cannot fix the device by yourself.

Does this mean that I get no points for a correct answer?  I am new to replying here at EE, and although I searched for an hour, I found no template for how situations like this are resolved.  I truly believe that my comment from 09/29/2004 is the correct answer (it fits perfectly).  It is discouraging to have spent so much time trying to answer someone's question only to be denied points by their abondonment.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this one, I thankyou for your help i have re-sourced a new printer because the option of replacing the bongo pads, is not cost affective, so have re-sourced a new printer, thankyou all for your help and you can have your brownie points
