My Outlook 2003 is synchronizing folders even though I have never asked it to, and it slows my downloading to a crawl

I have Outlook 2003, and it downloads from a webmail server and from my yahoo, both POP3 accounts.

It has this strange and inexplicable habit of synchronzing folders, even though I have never asked it to.

I'm not even sure how or where the files are being sync'd to.

This synchronization caused my downloading to slow to a crawl, which is very annoying.

Can you help me turn this off?

Hi onedayaj,

Try checking here ..

OPen Outlook
go to tools ---> send and receive settings ---> define send and receive groups
selec the group name you have
and under  settings for group , uncheck all the options.
close and open outlook and see if you can still see the synchronization.

Also is your outlook has an exchange server account or ONLY POP3 account.

Not sure why it coud be synchronising
Try to remove the present profile going to control panel ---> mail ---> show profiles
before that take a backup of all emails and other outlook data
Recreate the profile to see if that would help
