HTML email images in notes - again

Some of our users are having problems with broken links in html emails, I have read the previous discussions on this topic and ensured I have checked things like proxy setting but still some people have problems, they display correctly on 80% of users computers but some still have problems.

I have ensured the smae settings are set as my machine but no joy, I have checked the proxy settings in both notes and network settings, users can browse the internet ok in IE, the settings have been checked for this also.

I have checked mime settings, ensured things like keep in senders format is ticked. If I open the mail file on my computer it displays fine.

Our setup is as follows:
Mac os 10.3.5
Notes 6.5.1

Any ideas anyone?

It could be related to the conversion options in the server. Open the person doc and check Format preference for incoming mail: and compare it with the other user where it works. Usually it is set to Richtext or mime. If RT does have problems then change it to mime and check

Mostly "Keep in senders' format" will be the best choice

Do the same mail give problems to the other user? The problem might be with the sender of the mail too. Just watch it the next time. Does a mail with the problem opens fine on your PC?

Managed to fix it....

the procedure was as follows:

1. Open location doc set browser to Notes > From notes workstation (you do not get notes with IE option on Mac)
2. open one of the problem emails
3. change browser settings back to IE
4. Open mail file again and should now work

How ridiculous is that?!?!

Thanks for the comments anyway guys

It might be that the location doc was corrupted or the view index was outdated... Due to resaving sometimes the corruptions lifts off and rebuilds the view index

PAQ with points refunded.  Asker provided own solution, but the oslution is valuable in itself.
