Blackberry sync problem

Hello,

I have been using my Berry on the same computer for over a year now. Recently when I place the berry in the cradle to sync it flashes "Connecting to Desktop" and then it goes back to the berry desktop. The berry screen alternates between the message "Connecting to Desktop" and the normal berry desktop every 2 seconds.

If I place my Berry in another user's cradle it does the same thing. If I place another user's berry in my cradle it also syncs normally.  Clearly this tells me the problem is with my berry.  

I can get a replacement berry but the only problem is I have not synced for a week and have a lot of changed data on my berry (dates, to/do, memo, and phone entries).

How do I know what has changed before I move to another berry if I can't sync?

Stats:

6710 with 16m of memory
Running platform 1.4.0.77 and app version 3.7.1.41 on the Blackberry
Running version 3.3.10 (July 19, 2004) of the blackberry desktop manager
I have tried multiple cradles
I have disabled all comm ports with the exception of com1
No other software is using com1
I sync with a notes bes server which is working for everyone else
I have not updated or changed any software/hardware on the computer since it stopped syncing

First try cleaning the connection on the device.
Second, and more likely,It sounds like there may be a problem with the physical connection between the device and the cradle.  Try pressing down lightly on the device while it is in the cradle.  Unfortunately if it is a software issue with the handheld it will be difficult to try reloading the handheld software if it will not stay connected.

First thing you should try is reset it by pulling the battery while its on or getting a pen and hit the reset on the unit.  If that doesn't work turn the autosync off if its on.  Then connect the device and do a full backup on the device.  Once you have your backup file wipe the unit.  You can whipe it by putting a password on the unit.  Then enter a bad password 10 times or you can reset it thorough the application loader.  Then sync unit up and do a selective restore.  Just restore what you need.  Ex. address book.  That should fix the issue.

Try changing the battery, use another connector cable.
