Run a VB6 application as service

I have a program that I need to write that runs as a service, and checks (via FTP and the Inet control) if a file on some server: ftp.lookhereforfile.com has changed and is newer than the one on the computer. If it is, it will download the new file replacing the old one.

My question is this: how do I write an application as a service? Or is it just as simple as running it as a service from the "RunServices" entry in the registry...?
