LSA Shell (export version) encountered a problem, and goes on to say I should send an error report to Microsoft. After I click don't send the system either hangs or reboots. I have read that this is probably the sasser worm. Problem is I can't load the windows updates, because it either hangs or reboots. I have run some detecting software in safe mode but it doen's find anything. Any Ideas?

Hi whiwex,

I am assuming that you are getting a window that pops up and says it is about to reboot your pc.

Here is a trick that will buy you enough time to get your updates downloaded.

make a shortcut by right clicking on desktop, go to new shortcut
then for location of item, type 'shutdown -a' and then click next
then type anything for the icon name, example "Stop Reboot"
then whenever window that warns you it is about to reboot pops up, click on that and it should stop it from rebooting

Once you have that in place, then start your updates.

God Bless

I never get the chance to see the reboot. It looks like it blue screens for about a half a second then the reboot starts. It seemslike it stays at the LSA Sell window until I click don't send then not long after I click don't send it will either hang or reload. I have tried to run several spy ware removals in safe mode but they all error after running for a few minutes.
