I have recently installed MS CRM on a MS SBS 2003 machine. After the install the indexing service via the cisvc.exe program consumes about 50% of my CPU time. is this normal? do i need to have it enabled? any info on what it does and why i need it would be great. thanks, ben

cisvc is the content indexer service.

I believe it is a required component for CRM, but I am not 100% positive.

It is not unusual to see it use a significant amout of CPU while building the initial indexes of files.  After it completes the first full index the porcessor utilization should drop to almost nothing and then spike occasionally as it indexes new content.
