QUICKBOOKS PRO 2003 multi user problem

Keep getting the message: "The company file has been opened by another user. Ask that user to switch to multi-user mode so that you can use the company file." Have done everything to fix the problem but no luck.....any ideas?

Is QuickBooks software running the same Update version  on each computer?
QuickBooks provides a way for all the computers to share the same update files. Perform the following steps on every computer:
1.Open the shared company file.
2.Choose File - Update QuickBooks
3.Go to the Options tab.
4.Select ON for the Share Download option.
5.Click Save.

Check if you still have the problem,,,

What OS is the Company File on?

Have you tried rebooting that computer?  Do you have any integrated applications that use the company file in single user mode?

WINDOWS XP PRO on all three machines.....all other apps are turned off when we troubleshoot.

Found the solution myself.....seems that you can only browse to the company data file to in stages (IE MY COMPUTER...NETWORK PLACES....COMPANY FILE....DATA FILE) and NOT by just directly looking for the data file and trying to open it with the remote machine.  Once you have opened and closed it properly then you are able to just use the "last company opened" feature of QUICKBOOKS PRO to open it again without looking/browsing again.  No points to anyone but thanks for the ideas.  Please close this question now.
