Roaring Penguin PPPoE server allocate static ip address to client
Hi experts,
as title, how should i config linux rp-pppoe server to allocate static ip to client according to its ethernet address?
If Roaring Penguin PPPoE server could not have such function, any open source pppoe server suggest? thanks
pppoe+dhcp is not under consideration!

thanks
I had traced the rp-pppoe server source code and found that all ips it prepared to assign clients as free sequential ip pool. The only way to achieve my goal is to coding that fnuction.

Do you want to have a static IP address bound to PPP0 after connecting with pppoe?
Does your ISP provide you with a static IP?
If not, you might want to look at using Dynamic DNS (http://www.dyndns.org) or EasyDNS (www.easydns.com) so that you can have a single DNS name for the PC - no matter what the IP is.
Hope i am getting warm :P
Cheers!
