Pegasus and default network printer

Pegasus on opening tries to open multiple netbios-ssn connection to the default network printer. It does the same for retreiving emails using pop, deleting a message basically every operation causes it to query the printer. This is really slowing down pegasus has anyone come across the same problem and come across a solution.

Thanks

What version?
I had the same problem at one point. The newest (at that time) version didn't have the problem, so I upgraded.

This is from the knowledgebase for Pegasus and Mercury:

" The last known culprit for slowdowns in Pegasus Mail has to do with an invalid printer driver or unreachable network printer or print queue selected as your default printer in Windows. Some printer drivers seem to have problems that cause severe delays in initialization, and the way Pegasus Mail works means that it has to initialize the printer driver each time the reader window is opened. To fix this problem, either try getting updated printer drivers from your printer vendor's web site, or else select a different default (local rather than networked) printer in Pegasus Mail."

Perhaps upgrading the printer driver or changing default printer will do something.

Thanks rid and sorry for taking so long in giving you the points!

I was running 4.21c version of pegasus but updating the printer driver seemed to solve the problem. Don't suppose you have any idea why pegasus has such a fixation with the printer driver?

Thanks

No.... but I have wondered. I like that program very much so I'm prepared to accept a little flaw, but it is a bit odd.
cheers
