Ned help with a new server 2003 exchange server in a 2000 active directory ADC

I am not able to run the setup for exchange 2003 server. This company has a new server. I run a command that updated the schema in the 2000 server before i made the new 2003 server part of the domain. The the forestprep run succesful and the domainprep as well. When I run the setup to install exchange 2003 finally i get this:

The componet "microsoft exchange messaging and collaborationservies" cannot be assigned the action "install" because:
   - The nntp component of Microsoft internet information services (IIS) is either not installed or disabled
   - SMTP the same thing......
   - All active directory connectors in the windows forest must be upgraded to the most current version before you can upgrade microsoft exchange. THe following ADC servers have not been upgraded: "old 2000 server-name"

PLease I will like to get this monkey off my back some time today.

The first two messages mean that those components aren't on the machine. You need to go in to Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components and add them. There is a list of the components required on the checklist that comes up when you allow the Exchange 2003 CD to autoplay.

As for the last message - do you have any Exchange 5.5 servers in this environment? If not then you can remove the Active Directory connector from the old server. It should be listed in Add/Remove programs.
