Dual Monitor Output

I currently have a single output vga card in my AGP slot. Is it possible to add another PCI VGA card and hook up another monitor to it. I am looking to increase my desktop space by streching it. I have done it on a card that has two outputs but don't know if that is possible by installing two differnt video cards. Or will i have to buy another AGP VGA card with two outputs ?

you can do as you suggest with a PCI card but the quality of the image will not be up to speed with that on the AGP card.
Dual head cards are pretty pricey but if you need equal performance on both monitors then they are for you.

i don't need it for games.. but for regular application stuff.. am i still going to notice the refresh delay ?
It will be noticable from the agp to the pci controlled monitor but it will vary as to what the capabilities of the graphics cards and monitors are.

that's ok as far as i can stretch the desktop and not just have the same screen on both monitors.
